UPCOMING EVENTS DATIL FLEA MARKET HAS STARTED – Every Saturday from 8am – NOON (and sometimes longer!) on Hwy 60 in front of the Eagle Guest Ranch Motel.  There is no charge to set up at the flea market.

JUNE

Mon. June 17 – June 21st – 9am-Noon daily  COMMUNITY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – SKY! –  in DATIL, to be held at the Baptist Church.  It’s time for Vacation Bible School !!  We are in need of both teachers and helpers (Bible Drama, Science projects, Recreation). If you would be interested in helping out, please contact Ann Jenkerson  772-5156. There is also a list of items we need donated – craft and paper supplies and snack items for churches or individuals.  Cash donations accepted as well. Mark your calendars for June 17-21, 9 am – Noon, gather up all children you know, and come be a part of the fun and fellowship.

Saturday, June 22nd – PUBLIC AUCTION SALE – Yates Ranch, Datil.  Starts at 9am – check J and J Auctioneers website for item list. Partial list – ranch equipment, antiques, collectibles, furniture, appliances, whole house and property full.   AND

Saturday, June 22nd ESTATE SALE plus Multiple Families Participating @ The Koerber’s (just down the street from the Yates Auction) on Old Hwy 60 – Tools – all kinds including work benches, work tables, building materials, camping equipment, furniture, misc items too numerous to mention.  Directions – From the West on US 60: Look for Highway 12 to your right, Old St. Rt. 60 will be on your left. Go down Old St. Rt. 60 .6 miles. Estate/yard sale will be on your right at the gray green house with all the trees.

From the East on US 60: Turn right on Old St. Rt. 60 just before the Highway Dept. Go about ½ mile. The Estate yard sale will be on your left at the gray green house with all the trees.

Saturday, June 22nd – starting at 4pm – Catron County Historical Society will have a MEMBERS ONLY event, a Cowboy Symposium,. at the Blum Ranch.   Chris Isaacs, a famous poet, will be there reciting his poetry. There will also be Dutch oven cooking, food by BBQ Chef Tom Sanford, cowboy tents and sleeping bags, and cowboy stories.  Be sure to join in advance so as not to miss out.  Contact Sally Blum at sallyb44@hughes.net or at 575-772-2539. Sunday, June 23rd – 10am – ANNUAL ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION DATIL CHRISTIAN COWBOY CHURCH. Guest Speaker Cody Ross from Williams County Cowboy Church.  Special Music by The Howlin’ Coyotes and our very own Pat Padgett.  Food & Fellowship following 10am service.  BBQ & Catfish provided.  Please bring a covered dish or dessert to share.  Hope to see everyone there!

Wednesday June 26 Food Fair and USDA Food Distribution in Luna. Sign in is 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the Luna Community Center. Everyone is welcome to receive food. If you have not registered with the Catron County Food Pantries, bring a photo ID showing proof of residency in Catron County. Bring your own containers—ice chests are recommended. We always accept donations to help bring the next truck. For Emergency Food Assistance, call 575-773-4853.

HORSE FOR SALE – 13 year-old Thoroughbred Bay Gelding For Sale in Apache Creek – asking $750  (potentially a great barrel racer)  “Indy” is very fast – was bred to be a race horse but did not do well racing and was then used as a ‘Pony Horse’ at the track.  After that he became a trail-riding horse.  He’s had good training and is a very solid healthy horse but has not been ridden since Nov. of last year.  He stands about 15-2; has great manners and a great foundation of training.  He does best when he has a job to do so an experienced rider would be best. CAT SPAYING & NEUTERING –
Dr. Duncan would like to make the community aware of a program called Cat Spay of Santa Fe.  This foundation is providing vouchers for the spay and neuter of cats (Cats only).  There are a few restrictions on who will qualify–but most people will qualify.  If interested in having a cat fixed just call 505-466-1676.  They have a website with all the details: www.zimmer-foundation.org.  Big Country Veterinary Service is accepting the vouchers which covers the entire cost of the surgery.
